Mugunghwa

Mugunghwa—the Korean hibiscus and national flower—holds a significance far beyond its botanical form. Before I came to the United States on my own, my grandmother reminded me to never forget the mugunghwa: a flower that blooms endlessly and never fades in color. Her words became a lesson in resilience, pride, and quiet strength. In embracing my Korean heritage, I carry her message of industriousness through this skirt, allowing the mugunghwa to serve as both symbol and legacy—one that endures, evolves, and refuses to be lost.
